《喋血街头3：宣泄》将会研习系列一贯的自由风格，玩家依然会扮演一位精神失常，嗜好暴力的邮差。
在《喋血街头3：宣泄》中玩家将会经历十分“普通”的事件，并且以暴力血腥来演绎，玩家在游戏中可以接受拿牛奶，去银行取款，修剪花园等在现实中普通到不能再普通的任务，但是玩家在完成任务的过程中，可以使用各种路边能够获得的道具虐杀路人。
玩家可以使用汽油罐浇路人，并且将其点燃，使用石块丢路人，使用铁铲将人打倒后把他的头铲下来当球踢，也可以袭击警察，抢夺警察的枪支向路人疯狂扫射，更甚之，玩家可以往路人身上小便羞辱别人……这些事情虽然看似很酷，但现实中绝对不能模仿哦。
